✮ Her fashion house first opened in Japan in 1951.
✮Her designs have been seen on the runways of both Paris and New York and she is the only Japanese woman to have done so.
✮ She is the first Asian woman to admitted as an official Haute Couture design house by the federation francaise de la couture in France
✮ She designed three uniforms for flight attendants of Japan Air Lines... the second (worn from 1970 to 1977) created quite a sensation because it included a minskirt.
✮ Hanae Mori's signature design inspiration is the
butterfly.
✮ She has made costumes for operas such as
Madame Butterfly and
Elektra....for ballets including
Cinderella, and even musicals such as the Japanese production of
